Our time on earth is short and can change at any moment. Nothing is for certain or concrete. Around every corner, the track continually changes. One thing is for certain though; God is never changing.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega-the beginning and the end,” says the Lord. “I am the one who is who always was and who is still to come, the Almighty One.”
~Revelation 1:8

He helps us and protects us because we are his children. He knows us like a mechanic knows a bike. He knows how to set up the carburetor and suspension so we live to our best.
“You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; you know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;”
~Psalm 139:15

In our daily life, we all crash. We have our time of casing jumps and falling short, but God accepts us where we are and helps us.
“He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I would’t slip.”
~Psalm 40:2

We have crashed and can’t finish the race, but God sent his Son to be with us—to be our mechanic, our friend and our Savior.
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.”
~John 3:16

We have to accept his help and gift so that, on race day, we can win the prize of eternal life.
“That is why whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever!”
~John 3:36

To accept Him, all we have to do is ask Him to come into our heart.
“Say the welcoming word to God—“Jesus is my Master”—embracing, body and soul, God’s work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That’s it. You’re not “doing” anything; you’re simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That’s salvation. With your whole being you embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: “God has set everything right between him and me!””
~Romans 10:9-10
