Now that you have accepted Jesus as your Savior it is good to move towards Christ to develop a relationship with him.

Developing a relationship with Christ is very easy, although it seems complicated at face value. When we ask Christ into our hearts, we begin a relationship with him. This relationship is no different than any other relationship we have, except this is the relationship that will save us eternally.

The first step is to talk to Jesus (prayer). Pray to Him, tell him how you are feeling, your worries, your happiness, tell him everything.

Next you need to let Him talk to you. This is done by reading the Bible. The Bible is God’s word and by reading it, he speaks to us.

After we start spending time with Him, it is important to go to church. It doesn’t matter what denomination we go to, just that we go to church and spend time worshiping our Lord.

It is also important to spend time outside of church with other Christians. Christ is our Shepard and how many times do we see a lone sheep? Or how many times do we see a lone sheep who is not in trouble? We are stronger when we are together.

You may know someone from work, school or a hobby who is a Christian or you may have to meet Christian friends. Whatever your case, pray that God will bring Christian friends into your life. It really works; we just need to have faith in Him.

Also, reading Christian books can give us insight into how to become closer to our Lord. It should be warned though that Christian books are not the same as reading God’s word from the Bible; they are merely another Christian’s interpretation of the Bible to help give us ideas on how to grow closer to God.
